A Ming watch

Since I am that creative, I guess my watch would look like a vintage Daytona (without screw-down pushbuttons, so a 6239 or something) or an all integrated design watch like the AP Royal Oak, PP Nautilus or V&C Overseas.Anyway, here is Ming’s watch (it’s the MING Cal. M16RS Carillon Sonnerie Repetition Minutes, according to himself):You can follow the whole thread here.WatchRap.com regular Ming Thein designed his own watch! What would your own designed watch look like?

Aurelio’ Fiddy

You can see the message about the status of the fundraising here.Besides the fact that Aurelio S. is a populair fellow amongst Paneristis, it is nice to see that the Panerai community is so close they even start a fundraising to replace a stolen watch. Although I wonder if this was done as well for someone else with less ‘status’ at Paneristi.com or the Panerai forum at TimeZone.Aurelio S., one of the die-hard Panerai fans on the Paneristi and TimeZone Panerai Forum lost his Panerai PAM00127, also known as the ’1950′. He visitted a watch GTG (Get ToGether) in New York and not much later he discovered that his watch was gone from his collection. Another regular from both forums (by the name of Yogi) initiated a fundraising for a new PAM00127 and it seems that within a short period of time, over hundred people donated an amount of money for a new watch for Aurelio S.

Watchwinders

I agreed and not much later I got this odd looking winder delivered by our local Postman Pat. The casing is made out of hard plastic and looks a bit like the MTE winders. On top of the winder is a transparant cover you can remove to place a watch on a pillow. The winder does the job clockwise or counter clockwise, both directions have a seperate switch. It is suitable for only one watch and the noise it produces is very acceptable, I have mine in my livingroom on a bookshelf and even I don’t get annoyed with it. Why telling you all this? Well, Ernie Romers is going to sell these little machines for such a nice price it gets even interesting to buy one for winding your lowpriced Seiko 5 automatic wristwatch. I am writing and adding the last pieces of information to my review (which also will give a pricequote) and if it is finished I will keep you guys posted so you can all place your order at WatchUSeek.During the years I have tried a few watchwinders, but never got too enthusiastic. I don’t have the money for a watchwinder that costs as much as a new Omega Seamaster Professional and most of the time the less expensive ones look great, but lack functionality or are too noisy. Or just don’t wind my watches at all. And we aren’t exactly talking about very cheap models here either. Ofcourse, if I hadthe money I would be buying the Orbita Monaco winder in teakwood with hand-stitched Italian leather for 3000 USD, but like I wrote before, that’s not the current situation I am in However, Ernie Romers of WatchUseek asked me to review a watchwinder.

A truly unique watch: Frederic Jouvenot Automatic Chronograph Evolution

Jouvenot himself (thanks ) and I am pleased to share it with you here:The collection is limited to 88 pieces in both white and pink goldI am surely looking forward to what comes next from Frederic Jouvenot!Learn more at hSpecifications General information - Classic chronograph movement with column wheels, new exclusive automatic rewinding system and patented face.Hello Watch Friends, Thought I would take a moment to introduce a unique watch that I recently taken some time to learn more about. Officially presented to the media and the public in January 2009, the innovative design and eye-catching appeal of the Automatic Chronograph Evolution bears the namesake a creative young watch maker named  Jouvenot – himself a mere 32 years old! Most unique about the watch is that the watch rotor, which typically appears on the back side of a watch, has been engineered to appear on the front / dial side. Take a closer look for yourself in the photos below, and don’t miss the video below that Mr. Jouvenot himself was kind enough to share with me!The face leaves little doubt as to the watch equally inventive and ingenious intentions Whether resting upside-down on a table or in reading mode, the chronographtwo registers always perfectly bisect the rotor curves. This video was sent to Perpetuelle.com directly from Mr.

Basel 2009 News Glash?ɬºtte Original Senator Navigator Perpetual Calendar

The red ‘L’ in this subdial indicates that it is a leap year.Inside ticks GO caliber 100-07, a manufacture caliber, that has a power reserve of more than 55 hours (+/- 10%) and features a reset mechanism to reset the second hand that enables quick synchronization. The reset button is being operated from an extra button on the side of the case at 8 o’clock. The vintage look strap (calf skin) gives this watch a real pilot’s watch look. Other Basel novelties by Glashtte Original are the Senator Meissen Tourbillon and the Lady Serenade Chronograph. I will do some coverage on both later on.What do you think of a pilot’s watch with all these fancy features? Please share your thoughts by clicking ‘comments’ below.Just before the big BaselWorld 2009 exposition, Glash?ɬºtte Original (hereafter GO) presents their Senator Navigator Perpetual Calendar. This 44mm pilot watch in stainless steel has a matt black dial (as a pilot’s watch always should have) with large Arabic numerals and blued hour and minute hands. I don’t know if I am a big fan of too much functionality on a pilot’s watch, especially if they seem not very functional (moonphase and leap year). However, as GO put it themselves in their press release: “The added perpetual calendar functions have been seamlessly integrated into the dynamic design of this efficient timepiece.” Probably only few will actually control the flight control stick in an aircraft, so it doesn’t really matter of course. As you can see on the picture below, the leap year is indicated with the small hand at 12 o’clock.

Antiquorum acquires TimeZone.com

My guess is that it should get independent. Get rid of the ber sponsoring and the rule that you cannot link to other watch information resources. However,it probably has something to do with eachother. Anyway, the masses seem not to be bothered. It is probably just me again  You can read the official announcement here.Antiquorum doesn’t have an announcement online yet, but keep an eye on their news section. As we are at it anyway, check-out the OmegaMania auction. It will be held 14 and 15 April 2007 in Geneve. Click here to go to the OmegaMania website. The world’s self-proclaimed premier watch auctioneer bought the world’s self-proclaimed watch information resource. Congratulations! The official announcement over at TimeZone says: “Antiquorum’s Founder, Chairman and CEO Osvaldo Patrizzi has been a TZ fan since the early days and an official supporter for the past several years. His goals for TZ are to maintain continuity and independence, and to build on the foundation laid down by Joseph Lam and his predecessors.”I wonder how you can maintain something which isn’t there (independence).
